This page is dedicated to the memory of Sapphire, my much loved and
still very much missed Sheltie 24/2/99 – 25/11/08
Saffi was an eight week old bundle of fluff when my husband gave her
to me as an anniversary present. I decided to start
her training when she was
around eighteen months old. I had done some training with her at
home, but she was quite a nervous little girl and I wanted her to gain
more confidence.
So off we went to a local dog training school, and Saffi took to it like a duck to water. Before
long she had worked her way through all the classes to advanced for obedience, agility and heelwork to music. Saffi
especially
loved the agility and you had to be quick to keep up
with her. Needless to say she soon forgot to be
nervous around other people and became everyone’s best friend.
Unfortunately Saffi developed chronic bronchitis and so had to be retired
from working, however she was still my special girl who went everywhere
with me whenever possible. Until her final days, Saffi led a full
and happy life and I’m proud to say that she touched many people’s lives.
So this is where the name Sapphire Dog Training comes from. A very
fitting tribute to a very special girl, who will never be forgotten.
